Puffed Rice upma

This is a very nice variation to traditional upma ! Its a unique upma which is not so popular...But tastes awesome,very light and ideal for snacks time...


Preparation time - 10min
Serves - 1


Ingredients needed
Puffed rice - 4 cups
Onion - 1 
Green chillies - 4
Curry leaves - 4 to 5
Carrot - 1 grated
salt to your taste
Oil - 3tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1tsp
Channa dal - 1tsp
Urad dal - 1tsp
Peas - 1/4 cup
Lemon juice - 1tbsp
Coriander leaves  for garnishing


Method
Step 1 - Heat oil in a nonstick pan and add mustard seeds,when they crackle add channa dal and urad dal,saute till they change colour and add curry leaves,greenchillies and chopped onion.Fry for 2 to 3 minutes and add carrot and peas along with little salt(do not salt too much as puffed rice has some salt in it). 
Step 2 - Now fry them nicely until the carrots are soft.Pour the puffed rice in a big vessel full of water,let it soak for a minute and then squeeze the water from it and immediatly add it in the onion carrot masala.
Step 3 - Mix everything well and finally add chopped coriander leaves and lime juice.
Step 4 - Turn the heat to medium and let it cook for 7 to 8 minutes.


Serve hot as a snack or as breakfast !
